Yes, the Ferry Point bridge is open to pedestrians and is a popular bridge to walk across. Many people use the bridge to walk between the two major shopping centers in St Stephen and Calais. In fact, the number of people who walk across the bridge every year actually outweighs how many people take their car across the bridge. It is a short walk across the bridge, taking less than five minutes to cross.
There is no toll charge to use this bridge. That said, it is only available for automobiles and pedestrians. Those with a commercial vehicle will be redirected to another crossing point and will not be permitted to pass.
The bridge is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There are two lanes available across the bridge to help speed up the flow of traffic. The bridge is situated in downtown, so can experience congestion due to town traffic at peak times.
There are several Duty-Free Americas stores in Calais, Maine. The closest one is the Ferry Point Crossing Store, which is situated at 40 Main Street, Suite 2. It is open every day between 8 am and 9 pm. It is worth remembering that visitors to the US, can only bring 1-liter of liquor and gifts up to the value of $100. Visitors can only bring less than 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars of 2kg of tobacco when crossing the border from Canada to the US. For visitors entering Canada from the US, there are strict entry requirements too. Visitors can bring gifts up to the value of $60 per gift, 1.1 liters of liquor or 24 x 355ml of bottles or cans of beer. Visitors can only bring 200 cigarettes, 14 ounces of tobacco or 50 cigars with them over the border crossing.

With the certificates, it is essential to bring valid photo identification as well, such as a driving license. Furthermore, residents of the US must show their US green card.
