US Customs and Border Patrol Issues Easter Advisory

April 8th 2020 – The CBP has issued a statement to remind folks that all non-essential travel is prohibited, amongst concern that the Easter weekend will prompt an increase in cross border traffic from those seeking to visit family members.

According to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) it has been reported that, in recent days, US/Canadian cross border traffic is just 5% of its usual volume.

Within the statement from the CBP, the agency also expressed its gratitude for the health care and other workers who were still crisscrossing the border out of necessity:

“The men and women of CBP stand proud of the medical workers and other essential travellers who cross the border every day to help in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic,” said Christopher Perry, director of field operations. “We thank you for what you do to protect us and keep the nation moving.”
