Canada shutting its borders? Nothing is off the table says Trudeau

Canadian Border Service AgencyMarch 16th 2020 – Nothing is “off the table” said Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau yesterday, who is himself self-isolating at Rideau Cottage following his wife testing positive for COVID-19.

Speaking to CTV he also said that stricter measures to completely restrict any international travel to Canada by air, land or sea is not required yet but that the US’s stance means that the Government has “significant things to think about.”

There has been criticism over the Governments handling of international and domestic travelers returning to Canada after the Foreign Affairs Minister had urged all Canadians to return home. As yet there doesn’t appear to be self-distancing measures at airports and limited information disseminated at airports.

Returning back to the country might not be so simple for Canadians as is expected certain airports only will be designated to receive these passengers.
