There is no toll to cross the Fort Hancock - Porvenir International Bridge.
The bridge is open from 6 am to 10 pm. As the bridge is quite minor, the wait times at this bridge are generally very short, with the average time being about 6 minutes.
As the crossing is quite a minor one, there are no large duty-free stores near the crossing point. You can, however, bring back goods up to the value of $800 dollars from Mexico to the US. The nearest town is El Porvenir. If you are planning to stock up on cheaper medications while in Mexico, you need to be aware that you are only allowed to bring back a 60-day supply of any prescription medications. If you attempt to return with more, then the border control agents will confiscate the additional drugs.
For US citizens, you need to have picture Id with you. The accepted forms of ID are passports, passport cards, trusted traveler cards, or an Enhanced Driver’s License. Enhanced Tribal ID and military Id can also be used for crossing the border. You will need these for crossing the border in either direction.  If you are traveling with a minor then you make sure that you bring a copy of the child’s original birth certificate. Non-US citizens will need their passports. They will also need their visa for entry into the US from whichever port of entry was used.
