Press rumors that US / Canada Border closure extended until June 21st

May 14th 2020 – Several press sources including the Anadolu Agency and the US News & World Report are reporting that agreement has been reached between the US and Canada to extend the worlds longest border closure for another month, until June 21st. The sources state that The Globe and Mail, in Canada, cite non named sources in the know, that a verbal agreement has been reached between President Trump and Prime Minister Trudeau. At the time of writing though it appears that there is no story confirming this on The Globe and Mail website and no official confirmation from either nation.

No specific details are known on the rumored new deal or any variations on what is classified as ‘essential travel.’

If the press rumors are correct expect both leaders to make public announcements later today.
